Terms of Service

1. Description of services

TeamPledge provides a fundraising platform that allows teams, schools, nonprofits, and other organizations to create pledge-based fundraising campaigns. Features include branded campaign pages, participant registration, donor checkout, pledge tracking, and SMS messaging tools.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old or have the authorization of a parent, guardian, or organization representative to create an account and manage a fundraiser. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. SMS messaging is optional and never granted by these Terms

Accepting these Terms does not give TeamPledge consent to send you text messages, and no part of these Terms enrolls you in any messaging program. SMS consent is never a condition of creating an account, joining a fundraiser, donating, pledging, or using any TeamPledge service.

Consent for promotional fundraising texts is collected separately and is always optional and unchecked by default, through one of these methods: the web form at teampledge.app/sms-opt-in, a mobile QR code or sign-up link, verbal consent recorded by the organizer, or texting JOIN to +1 (615) 212-2637. Informational transaction updates about your own donation or pledge are requested separately at checkout. Agreeing to one category does not enroll you in the other.

If you opt in, message frequency is approximately 3–4 promotional messages per campaign. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for help. Providing a phone number alone does not opt you in.

Organizers and participants may add contacts to a campaign only when they have obtained express consent from each contact. TeamPledge is not responsible for contacts added without proper consent.

4. Payments and fees

TeamPledge uses Stripe to process payments. Donors authorize charges through Stripe. Fees are described on our Pricing page and may include Stripe processing fees plus a platform fee. Donors may be offered the option to cover transaction fees, which increases the net amount received by the organization.

Payouts to organizations are processed through Stripe Connect. You are responsible for providing accurate payout information and complying with Stripe's terms of service. We reserve the right to hold or delay payouts if we suspect fraud, violations of these Terms, or other risk factors.

5. Organizer responsibilities

As an organizer, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your organization and campaign
• Obtain proper consent before adding contacts to a campaign for SMS outreach
• Honor opt-out requests promptly
• Use donations and proceeds in accordance with any stated purpose
• Comply with all applicable laws, including tax and fundraising regulations

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Services to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Send unsolicited or harassing communications
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Interfere with the security or availability of the Services
• Infringe on the rights of others

7. Intellectual property

TeamPledge retains all rights to the Services, including trademarks, software, and content created by us. You retain ownership of content you upload, and you grant us a limited license to use it to provide the Services.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violations of these Terms or for other business reasons. You may close your account by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not responsible for the actions of donors, participants, or third-party service providers.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeamPledge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid by you to us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
