Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information (name, email address, password)
• Organization details, including EIN or tax-exempt documentation
• Fundraiser and participant information
• Contact information uploaded by organizers or participants for SMS outreach (name, mobile phone number, relationship to the fundraiser)
• Payment and billing information processed by Stripe
• Communications you send to us

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the TeamPledge platform
• Process donations, pledges, and payouts
• Send fundraising campaign messages, donation receipts, and event reminders
• Verify nonprofit status when required
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

SMS and mobile messaging

TeamPledge sends two separate categories of text messages, each with its own consent.

Promotional fundraising texts. These are sent only to friends and family who expressly opt in to receive them. They include a kickoff message and reminder messages while the fundraiser is open — about 3–4 messages per campaign. Consent is collected through the web form at teampledge.app/sms-opt-in, a mobile QR code or sign-up link, verbal consent recorded by the organizer, or by texting JOIN to +1 (615) 212-2637. Consent is optional, not pre-selected, and applies only to the specific campaign.

Informational transaction texts. These are sent only to a donor or pledger who separately requests them at checkout, and only about their own transaction — for example, a payment confirmation, receipt, or final-result update. Agreeing to promotional fundraising texts does not enroll a person in informational texts, and vice versa.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or contact lists with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to deliver messages related to the specific fundraiser for which they were provided.

Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the platform:

• With Stripe, to process payments and payouts
• With Twilio, to send SMS messages
• With service providers who help us host, analyze, and secure the platform
• When required by law or to protect our rights

We do not share contact information with other fundraisers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties.

Data security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can update your account information by logging into your dashboard. If you wish to delete your account or request removal of your information, contact us at the email below.

Children's privacy

TeamPledge is intended for use by organizations, teams, and adult organizers. Participants under 13 should use the platform with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or authorized adult organizer.
